School Streets Award

The School Streets Award recognises innovative approaches to managing vehicle access at the start and end of the school day.

​

School Streets are a way of addressing the congestion, road safety and air quality concerns that many schools experience. They enable children and families to safely walk, wheel, scoot or cycle to school. And by making active travel possible for everyone, they help contribute to efforts to tackle the health crisis and climate change.

​

This award is open to local authorities, schools and campaigns that are involved in promoting and implementing School Street schemes and other initiatives that make travelling to and from school safe.toring are carried out.

The criteria:

The entry should set out:

  • Name and location of scheme

  • Organisation(s) delivering the School Streets scheme

  • The scope and ambition of the scheme or project

  • A description of how the scheme's was implemented

  • Evidence of its success.
